UNC, led by legendary head coach Roy Williams, will be trying to win its sixth national championship as part of its 20th Final Four trip. Few programs can touch what the Tar Heels have accomplished over the decades, and that’s been no different under Williams, who has led them to national titles in 2005 and 2009.

This year’s Tar Heels are led by star forward Justin Jackson, a 6’8 junior forward who has averaged 20.2 points per game in the NCAAs, including 24 points in a 92-80 win over Butler in the Sweet 16. Big man Kennedy Meeks has also been huge for UNC, highlighted by a 25-point, 14-rebound effort against Oregon in the Final Four.

Gonzaga doesn’t have the history that North Carolina boasts, but the Bulldogs enter the national championship in the midst of an incredible run under Mark Few. They’ve reached their first Final Four in program history and could add a national title to the list.

After watching great teams led by the likes of Dan Dickau, Adam Morrison, Kelly Olynyk, and Domantas Sabonis fall short, Few may finally have a championship-winning group.

Nigel-Williams Goss leads Gonzaga in scoring at 16.9 points per game. He’s been inconsistent in the tournament, but elevated his game with 23 points apiece in the Elite Eight and Final Four.

The Bulldogs have capitalized on a fortunate path to the title game, though, as they had to face No. 16 South Dakota State, No. 8 Northwestern, No. 4 West Virginia, No. 11 Xavier, and No. 7 South Carolina. Even if this was a questionable year for some seeding choices by the selection committee, Gonzaga hasn’t really had to face a team of UNC’s caliber yet. WATCH LIVE
